Major Responsibilities
The Department of Agricultural Legislation shall bear the following obligations:
- Prepare supportive policies for the farmers, especially the poor, to improve their socio-economic environment and livelihood in the market economy condition;
- Prepare judicial conditions, raise the measures and facilitate to the development of institutions and agricultural organizations;
- Enact, review and revise the draft law and regulations submitted by Departments or Institutions under the Ministry based on the existing and in effect laws;
- Disseminate and monitor the implementation of judicial terms and conditions, regulations and legislation for agricultural sector to concerned Departments and Institutions;
- Assist the Ministry on registration and standardization of agricultural materials and strengthen monitoring process on the quality control of agricultural inputs;
- As an assistant on law or legal affairs to the Ministry’s leaders and to all Departments and concern Institutions under the Ministry; and
- Undertake other duties which to be given by the leaders of the Ministry.
