Major Responsibilities

The Department of Planning, Statistics and International Cooperation shall bear the duties and obligations as follows:

• Analyze and formulate the Short, Medium and Long Term Agricultural Development Plans and carry out the monitoring of implementations;
• Lead implementing the whole sector and sub sector surveys, collect analyze and compile the agricultural statistic information;
• Prepare and establish agricultural strategic policies and programs and direct targeting of the development;
• Prepare and formulate the Public Investment Programs and direct Private Investment Programs in agriculture sector and other development programs for food security and nutrition;
• Research and disseminate market price information for agricultural commodities and study on supply and demand for domestic and overseas markets in order to facilitate farmers’ choice on their production;
• Manage the Agricultural Technology and Science Document Center;
• Collaborate with concerned institutions and cooperate with international communities for the activities of investment and planning related to agriculture sector;
• Undertake other activities which to be given by the leaders of the Ministry.
