Major Responsibilities
The General Directorate of Ministry shall bear duties and responsibilities as follows:
- Coordinate and monitor activities of all fields of central and local Institutions of Ministry and also other Public Institutions under the supervision of Ministry and assist those to achieve goal and objectives set in the agricultural development policies;
- Make consistency between general laws, legislation and orders relating to agriculture sector that made by the Institutions under the Ministry;
- Coordinate with Institutions under the Ministry all activities related to: administration, reporting, documentation, personnel, planning, finance and other logistics;
- Prepare and formulate strategic policies, planning and programs for the development of agriculture sector;
- Coordinate all activities with other Ministries and Institutions and carry out the international cooperation;
- Prepare and formulate the draft of laws and other regulations related to agriculture sector; and
- Carry out other activities that to be given by the Leaders of the Ministry.

Organization and Supervision
The General Directorate of the Ministry leaded by one Director General and assisted by Deputy Director General as needed.
This General Directorate plays important role in central level management and consists of 12 Departments, that under its supervision. Each Department leaded by one Director and assisted by Deputy Director as necessary.
