Bopea Senchey Agriculture Development Community Need to Be Strengthen

In Komphong Tnol village, Lavea commune, Preash Sdach district, Bopea Senchey Agriculture Development Community was considered for strengthening in order to be a role model commune.

This topic was raised when Mr. Chan Sarun, the minister of MAFF, went to visit there in order to inspect the process of early season rice planting as well as to have a meeting with 100 family farmers who are the member of this commune. Community representative had informed the minister that it had the weakness because the commune was just created.

 

Minister recommenced that community must keep moving on what has been done before. Department of Agriculture Extinction ​had organized a training course on management in order to reach the management by themselves. He also raised the farmer experience and innovation of other communes that have been successful already. He believed that this commune must grow better and better if there is assistance from provincial agriculture department and specialized officer plus community’ effort.

Related to the agricultural productivity, the minister had suggested the general department of agriculture cooperating with Department of Agriculture Legislation  to issue an instruction on fertilizer usage for rice and other vegetable growth faster and then agriculture department would broadcast this information to people through media such as radio and TV. He claimed to the farmers not to use the agriculture pesticide include chemical fertilizer because it effects strongly to the land, water, and food. In contrast, farmer must use natural fertilizer and natural agriculture pesticide in stead.

Expressed that the productivity speed of rainy season rice in Preyveng  by 23 June 2010 , there were 67, 993 ha in total were plowed; in total 48,674 ha were transplanted equal to 19.47% including 29,326 ha of early rice, 11,133 ha of ordinary rice, 7,901 ha of late rice and 314 ha of floating rice.
