Introduction

Royal University of Agriculture is a public administrative institution with mission to educate the humane resource in agriculture at every level with high quality and capacity to help develop the country. Major Activities:

Royal University of Agriculture has made every effort to develop its institution according to the development of the society and the world. As such, the University has done many things include:

Academic
Human resource that Royal University of Agriculture produced is shown in the table below by year and fields.

So far, Royal University of Agriculture has updated its curriculum into an international standard, credit based system. Over more, the curriculum in each faculty also develops to meet of the market.

We have add new specialized field that new with total of 10 as follow:

• Faculty of Agronomy Science
• Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine
• Faculty of Forestry Science
• Faculty of Fishery Science
• Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Management
• Faculty of Economics and Rural Development
• Faculty of Agro-Industry
• Faculty of Land Management and Land Administration
• Faculty of Information Technology
• Faculty of Basic Science.

Besides, in this 2002-2003 academic year, University have open new master course in Agriculture to train student, officials with high quantities in following 7 fields:

• Agriculture science
• Animal science and Veterinary Medicine
• Renewable Natural science
• Aquaculture and Aquatic Resource Management
• Agricultural Education and Management
• Agricultural Economic Development
• Agricultural Technology and Food science

Student and Laboratory
RUA have been equipped with practical facilities in each faculties and departments. To educate students with good practical skills, lecture sessions have to be followed by lab and field practical on campus.

For student work placement during semester break, at RUA Fish Farm, third year fisheries students are making composed manures from locally available raw materials resources such as cow dung, water hyacinths and plant leaves. The composed manure is then used to fertilize fishponds.

The fourth year students from Faculty of Agronomy are conducting fieldwork at a center for orchid plantation at CMDC, Battambang province.
 

Research
University have many research theme conducted by the lecturer and staffs in the Research Center and other faculty according to its specialization.

• Research to use local feed resource as cassava leaf, etc.
• conduct the breeding of animal to find the appropriate, high productivity animal.
• Research on the use of biogas
• Mushroom Experiment
• Rice Research
• Manure and Compost Research
• Fish grow research by special feeding and breeding
• Cap Fish research

Training

Beside degree program, the university also many training course counted in every year with special topic according to the need of other departments and others NGOs. As in this year 2002, we had training as follows:

1. Training about pig raising for the farmer at Prey Nop district 4 time with participation from the 95 farmer and with support from Greet from 12 March 2002 to 05 April 2002.
2. Training about Seed Production Management and Supplies in Royal University of Agriculture, the course conducted from 9-13 September, 2002 with Financial support from PRASAC II.

Cooperation

University cooperate with many institutions, National and International NGOs in order to develop the university both in term of infrastructure and the capacity building of teachers and staffs. Table below shows the project in Royal University of Agriculture.
